Since no winner has been certified in this race, it is inaccurate to write, "Democrats have a 73-61 majority pending a *reversal* in the Franson-Cunniff race." *Reversal* suggests that Fransen has already won when in fact she merely leads by 1 vote, pending a recount.
Franson is from a fairly consevative part of
the state. The closeness of this race I think
shows that voters have grown dissatisfied with
some of the rhetoric from the far right. If
she survives maybe she will work harder at the art of compromise. Being in the minority this
time might help her to do that.
"The U.S. Department of Agriculture is pleased to be handing out the most amount of food stamps ever," Franson said. "Meanwhile, when you go to the parks and rec, or the parks department, they say don't feed the animals because they may become dependent and not be able to take care of themselves." ---- Here's hoping she loses. We don't need legislators who despise and denigrate the poor.
