This would seem like a project that burns lots of money we don't have, Are you serious about spending $35-45,000 per intersection on this? Another highway department boondoggle! Of course this easily fixed by raising taxes on the rich!

I LOVE the yellow turn arrows! It's one of those things of "why didn't they do this before?!".

I fail to see the difference between the flashing yellow arrow and the solid green button - both mean you yield left turns to oncoming traffic. How is this a new and innovative thing? To me, it's a waste of taxpayer money. Switch out the yellow flashing arrows or better yet, leave the green arrow, yellow arrow, red arrow and green button option. I DO agree, however, to the fact that often it's a waste of drivers' time waiting for that red arrow to flip to green when there is NO oncoming traffic. Whatever it takes to return some of the common sense decision-making to us licensed drivers who EXERCISE the aforementioned common sense. . .

Cindy: The difference is that you can't put a solid green light next to a solid red light (for traffic going straight). You can put a yellow flashing arrow next to a solid red light (permissive left turn allowed, straight through not allowed).
