Hopefully he's alright and found somewhere in someone's cabin. The chances are slim. I've worked in AK every summer but one since 98 and have had coworkers die on the job and have known quite a few that have died doing what they love. It's no place for a 'hike' or ANYTHING by yourself if you can help it, unless you are forced too. In survival school they must not teach the buddy system anymore.
