"The Gophers are convinced they're on the right track". What would you expect the kids and coaches to say after getting humiliated again? We can't even compete with a team using a wide receiver as their starting QB. Hurry, Norwood. Get us a real Division I winning coach. If Kansas State can win, why not us? Has anyone ever been to Manhattan, KS? Cut the excuses. Get a big-time coach who will recruit the best and won't except anything other than winning. Hoping that our current 'aw shucks' coach and staff will get there has about as much chance as we had of winning in Lincoln today.

And I also hope he won't accept anything other than winning. Sorry.

The Gopher football program has been for the last 45 yrs a complete joke, regardless of the coach. What makes anyone thing that the current coach will have any better success than the ones before him. Honestly, if winning is at all important they should drop down a level. Otherwise it will just be more of the same for the next 45 yrs.

Dewarf, I agree with you 100%, but do you think Teague and Kaler have the intestinal fortitude OR intelligence to fix this? They signed off on Kill's request to get lower division opponents of the the schedule ( at a huge cost) because it would be "good for the program". how could any "AD" or "President" buy that argument? how does a football program get better when the "coach" runs to mommy to protect him from the other boys on the playground> Kill has made his bed here . He has also established his legacy as someone not ready for D1 football. I'm only asking for 500 in the conference. Kill will NEVER see that happen.

Coach Kill is making progress. Obviously, Minnesota can't compete at the top level of the conference in football at this juncture. The Brewster hire was a disaster and Kill is cleaning up the mess. I see progress even today. The weakness of the team is the offensive line. Hopefully, the Gophers can win next week and then win their bowl game. That will help in recruiting. Go Gophers!!!

having grown up in Minnesota and having been a long suffering Gopher fan, all we can hope for is SOME improvement. I bought in again until the NC cancellation. The program is still Gopher football. Having spent a number of years in ND, please watch the NDSU Bison to get some clue of how winning programs operate. Solid fundamentals, good line play on both sides of the football and little slop with penalties, missed tackles, and dropped balls. The Gopher program is not even at that level as yet, let alone a Nebraska level. Suffer on........

So in Jerry Kill's world, the way to prepare for Nebraska in the future is to pay to get out of games with North Carolina and play New Hampshire instead? To put this into perspective, Minnesota paid a school that Nebraska would beat by 50, $800,000, so they wouldn't have to play them!

Did anyone expect anything else? There is progress, give the guy another 2 years before you call him a failure. I mean, its been 45 so what the heck is anohter 2?. Now, about the $800k, that sticks with me, no matter how much I like Coach Kill............

@gregory 58 - I also just cannot get passed that $800K. So much so that I will be ducking out of my season tickets next year. Trying hard to get over that, but something about that goes against everything my parents and coaches taught me and apparently a few people missed that lesson! I think it's called ethics.....
