What is so wrong with climate change? Wouldn't it be great to have California weather in Minnesota? Out resorts would be full of vacationers, Lake Superior would be a world wide destination. And we could grow avocados in our backyard. Don't be so negative. Look on the bright side. If you have lemons, maybe you should make lemonade.

Open it up! Look at your pathetic employment figures. This is a no brainer, so my guess is Obama won't support it. FORWARD!!!!!

The Oil Industry has grossly overestimated how many American jobs Keystone would create. Oil says 100,000+ jobs, but even the most liberal estimates by non-partisan groups say the actual number is less than 8,000 jobs. And those jobs would be temporary. Block the pipeline and the dirty fuel that comes with it, Mr. President. The microscopic economic impact isn't worth the heavy environmental damage the pipeline would create.

If we build this pipeline, it's "game over" for Earth (according to climate change scientists). You want to create jobs? Fund alternative energy! It's just that simple.

The American people use electric for energy as the 'oil industry' well knows. So here's the question why are the 'American people' allowing the oil industry to raid Washington politics. The 'oil industry' is very undeserving in this country since they do nothing for the people here except MAYBE for judge's sons in Loueeseanna. The oil industry MAY 'give' them a job. So now why again are the oil industry lobbiest raiding washintonian politics when America uses electric for energy?

It's time to 86 the keystone cops pipeline. We don't need to make oil from filthy tar sands that'll throw much more carbon and pollution in the air to refine that crap. We're better than that.

It would be best to keep politics out of the decision, but when you have a president that is the most polarizing, politicized president in history, that just isn't possible. A few points. The oil sand oil takes more energy to get out of the ground, but to reject the pipeline because it is 8 or 9% more 'dirty' makes no sense. This oil is going to be developed no matter what. Its a question of whether we buy it, or if Europe or China buys it. Once that decision is made by Canada, it will be tough to reverse as they will start work on a pipeline to the Canadian coast. The other point is the jobs question. Just think about the enormity of the project. Projecting 6,000 jobs is just moronic - 20,000 or more is more accurate and that is from those that know. Yes, a lot of these jobs are temporary, just like any other infrastructure project. The pipeline will open up all variety of affiliated jobs and support. The key to energy stability is to have numerous sources. This pipeline will help ensure the supply of oil during times of turmoil in the middle east (which could erupt any day). Alas, this president owes to much to the radical left. His friend Warren Buffett also benefits in a huge way from the increased rail traffic needed until the pipeline is finished. I see little chance until we have a change at the top. The oil is going to be used and developed, its just a question of where....to think that you are saving the planet by blocking the pipeline is, quick frankly, a pipe dream.

J Dubya...you probably never thought about the MILIONS of dollars from pipe line rights that go to state, county, and city coffers right? This doesn't end but I'm sure you already knew this right?

If you build the pipeline it's game over for Earth? Really? The most absurd comment ever on these boards. I suppose the thousands upon thousands of miles of gas and oil lines we currently have underground missed the memo.

I think you see the protesters--correct? The pipeline even if its built will not stand so it is useless to consider it an 'asset' in any sort of trouble for this country--the United States. This is not the seventies anymore. A good example of this is look at trouble spots LIKE the middle east and Africa where the oil wells just got torched left and right. People don't like being 'poisoned' by YOUR 'fuels' for YOUR 'profit'.
