Well I did not watch the game today because of the outcome. I still hope the day will come that a Gophers team will be able to a team like Nebraska. But if the line of scrimmage cannot be protect on offense and cannot be penetrated on defense then its not to hard to tell who is going to lose this game. Ok lets move forward and close this season at home with a victory over Michigan State.

Since 1900, Gopher football 325 wins in Big 10. Divide that by 113 seasons and that averages 2.87 conference victories per year, so let's round that out to 3. Many say Jerry Kill has improved program? How so? If Goofs lose to Michigan State next week, they're 2-6 in Big 10 below their historical season average. Beat Michigan State, they tie historical norm of three conference wins which means they're still the same Gophers. Most rip Brewster as if a terrible head coach? Well he had back-to-back 3-conference win seasons? When has Kill? Brewster also (2008) 7-1 start 2nd year? Kill hasn't come close to that! Brewster took Gophers to two Who Cares bowls? Kill doing the same this year carried by a weaker non-conference schedule. Oh and Mason before Brewster in 10 years at UofMN averaged three Big 10 wins a year too. Not trying to rip or defend Kill, Brewster or Mason. Point is UofMN is a hockey school and hockey signature schools don't have consistent success in D1 football. For those who disagree.... name me one. Schools like Michigan where football first priority don't count. I'm talking schools like UofMN where hockey the first signature sport! Oh and as I close, Gopher FB hasn't had a six-win season in Big 10 since 1973 since Cal Stoll was coach. After Stoll fired the next seven Gopher head football coaches have failed to garner a six-win season in Big 10. My 2nd point, coaching isn't the problem. The problem is you Minnesota, because football not a big enough priority in your state.

I wish the people running the U will someday wake up and start taking sports seriously because they are Division I. Playing in meaningless forgettable bowl games is like watching a practice football game in the spring. The same with mens basketball. I don't know if you know this but it will bring in millions upon millions to our publicly funded U.

Wow. The score was actually close, by Gopher standards. Was the Huskers' fourth string in by halftilme?

Well, golly gee. In my very, very humble opinion, I don't think the University of Minnesota has a very good football team. In fact, I would say that they are a bad football team, and should have the decency to not cnsider going to any kind of post season bowl game.

a game like this does nothing for drawing conclusions. their program is an institution. 325 sellouts in a row. think about that. i don't think we've ever had 3 in a row, or 3 in a season. nebraska even had a few lean years when they ran the spread with callahan. 38-14 because they called off the dogs, otherwise 59-0.
