This article appears to assume the train was at fault. Do you realize how long it takes to stop a train at even 25 miles an hour?

Someone dropped the ball here either the city of Midland, and or the Railroad. With a parade on going the Frt train should have been held until after the parade was over. no exceptions.

Everyone is told to watch at railroad crossings and Buses, etc always STOP before crossing. If they had followed the safety directions this could have been avoided. BUT hindsight is 20/20.
