Failure to make tough decisions is not the result of a stiffened spine, it's a result of being spineless. Get ready, Obama and his legions of TAKERS are fixing to bring us all down!

The Republican approach of obstruction and division (makers vs takers) was rejected in the last election. The American people want action, not partisan bickering and rhetoric. Democrats tried to reach middle ground with Republicans in the last round of budget negotiations. They offered spending and entitlement cuts in exchange for increased taxes. Republicans rejected that compromise, and the American people showed how they felt about it in the election. Now it's time for Republicans to stop kowtowing to Grover Norquist and start serving their constituents.

" Get ready, Obama and his legions of TAKERS are fixing to bring us all down!"................You've bought the right wing kool aide that half of this country is "taking, not making". How sad and how false this is. Millions of seniors, students, vets, and low-income working families fall into your and Romney's category of "takers not makers". How incredibly arrogant and denigrating your rightreous opinion is. It's disgusting that Romney sold this bill of goods to the population and that people like you bought it. The good news is that what he was selling bombed. Decent, hard-working Americans didn't buy it.

The fact is that the nation has tilted. What was once a right center nation is now a left center nation. People are not going to vote against their economic interest and there are enough takers so the makers cannot support the system, e.g. the 17 trillion dollar deficit. The disparity will grow larger and the system will fail, although the long slide down will be slow. America's best years are behind her. We now ask not what we can do for our country but rather what are country can do for us.

Yes, the US is in deep trouble. When the leadership worries more about safety nets than they do about employment, we are doomed. I would love to hear one progressive job's plan. Just one. A couple thousand teachers, firemen, and police officers are not going to fill a 23 million person unemployment hole. This is all I have heard for job creation from the left so far.

The takers are the CEOs who bankrupt their companies after giving themselves 300% raises (Hostess) or refuse to pay their workers living wages, forcing them to rely on government assistance, which is simply a form of subsidization (Wal-mart is exhibit A in this regard). People who PAY INTO Social Security and Medicare their whole working lives and then rely on it in their elderly years are NOT takers!

We are doomed as a country when people actually think that raising taxes on the rich will solve both the budget and entitlement crisis. Go ahead raise the taxes on the rich- it gets you at best 120 billion/year (assuming the economy doesn't crash)- You just turned the deficit from 1 trillion to 880 billion- NOW WHAT? Refuse to deal with some of the biggest causes of deficit? Everybody has their hand out and everybody claims that other people interests are "special interests". It just proves how unserious President Obama is on balancing the budget. He whole platform is raising the taxes on the rich to fix the budget, social security, Obamacare, etc. If you actually think there is enough revenue in taxing the rich to pay for all of this- you have a serious math problem. Liberals- please show me the math how I am wrong. I am not even arguing policy- just the math. Please show me how this works.....
