Come on GOP get with the times

Spending other peoples money is chic, its getting your hands on the that money thats the tricky part.( hint: divide and conqueror)

Never reduce spending, demand more and more

To get in office you need the bottom 51% on the doll. You have have gifts or a "carrot" to get that vote. This year Obamaphones, free healthcare and Union bailouts were in style

Last thing is you need the Lame Stream Media backing you. You know where they all sing your praises, they all bash your opponent for you and they all turn their head and dont report news that may shed a bad light on you..... This one will be hard to handle, you better just buy a few of the stations

"This year Obamaphones, free healthcare".................Such an extreme and wholly false comment here!! There are no "obamaphones" - this is a right wing lie. There is no "free healthcare" other than the decades-long practice of walking into an ER and getting treated whether or not you have insurance. This, too, is an all-out lie. I have to wonder why such lies continue being repeated because they're completely without merit and so far out there that it's laughable.

Cooper, stick with it. I certain the world will come to you. You had better check on that so called "Obamaphone". No such thing, Sunshine. The Lifeline Act, passed in 1984, signed into law by your saint, R. Reagan, established assistance for phone service for those of low income. The act has been amended twice since, once under Clinton, once under Bush Jr. Obama has had nothing to do with any free or reduced price phones. Of course, Limblow didn't tell you that. Did he? You right wingers just keep on sucking up what the right wing entertainment media feeds you and watch the world pass you by.

Hey Cooper, is buying Osprey helicopters at $70 million a copy, B2 bombers at $2.1 billion a copy, Nimitz class carriers at $4.5 billion (we have 11, no other country has even 1), maintaining more than 1000 overseas military base, spending other people's money? How about the trillion plus spent on the war on drugs? Did you get your money's worth on the trillion spent on the Iraq war?

---After election setbacks, Republicans say Grand Old Party really needs to get with the times---Don't see it happening. Until the GOP dumps the social conservatives, the tea party, and the religious right wing they won't be able to "get with the times". People don't want government intruding into the bedroom, their body, or into their religion. But of course that's the catch-22. When they dump those groups they loose their base.

If the GOP is going to become nothing more than a democrat lite party they may as well just run as democrats. The GOP's message isn't wrong it's just that the liberal press is always going to portray their message wrong. Everyone knows that this country is changing for the worse thanks to all the progressives policies and if that's what the people want there is no stopping them now since there are more takers than producers. This country used to be great but now that we have went past the point of no return the only thing for the future of this country is destruction because people think they know more than God.

The problem is that the Republicans who vote in the primary are the far right. So you are going to get far right candidates to run in the general election. The Republican party should split into two parties - The Glenn Beck Republicans and the John Huntsman Republicans

Clausen: if you want to run for political office, I'll vote for you. You have grabbed the tail or that elephant in the room and have started to shake it. Walk down the street and ask any of the first 100 people you meet, how many aircraft carriers the USA has, and I doubt if one even comes close to the number 11. Now, go one step further and let's talk about the cold war military bases around the world that still exist. Why? Sorry, beware of the industrial/military complex. Ironic, Romney didn't tell many details in his campaign, but did say he wanted to build 17 more military ships. Unreal isn't it?

Ironic that the topic is ways the republican party has to change, and the first two people interviewed were Barbour and Gingrich. I wonder what these two have in common?

Finally, the republican party seems bound and determined to court the Hispanic population and that theme keeps surfacing. Now, what are they going to do; promise the Hispanics something? I thought there was something wrong with the promise idea according to, well, you know who....
