Religion is just theater, anyway. I see no difference between fake fighting and fake salvation.
"smeeagain2": I won't comment on whether or not religion is theatre, but I know that theatre probably got its start from religion. The various oracles of ancient cultures used all kinds of tricks and gags that became what we know as theatre. The earliest theatrical productions were done to illustrate various religious themes. When theatre branched out to take on secular themes there was a lot of backlash, so Greek plyawrights went out of their way to include at least the semblance of religious overtones in the telling of their stories, which would have worked equally well without any religious ingredients.
I don't know..it is so silly. I think the article is tongue in cheek. No pun intended.
