A Vikings official said the governor, public are too quick to judge on seat licensing issue.

I don't remember Dayton voicing dissatisfaction with "regular Minnesotans" paying for the state's portion with the purchase of electronic pull tabs.

This was all a ruse to keep the Vikings in the news during the bye week and we, Vikings fans, got played. I bet the Vikings brain wizards are sitting in their posh offices laughing so hard at the Viking faithful that their sides hurt.

(article quote)"The project's strong support came from many regular Minnesotans, not just rich Minnesotans, because they believed the Vikings are also their team," Dayton wrote in a stern letter to Viking owners Zygi and Mark Wilf Tuesday. ---- The facepainters need to realize that this is NOT their team. Not one bit of it is THEIR team. It just happens to have the word Minnesota in its name and our politicians have given them free money. That is all. $20,000 for each seat.

This seat licesing uproar is just the result of a mediocre politician stirring the pot without the intelligence to know that he signed off on this deal in the first place. Took photos with the team owners and everything. Seat licensing was fully disclosed in legisltion. It was part of the concept that the people who use the stadium should be the ones who pay for it. Silly Mark.

To the layman, "Builders licensing" and "Personal seating license" don't even sound related. And Bagman says the Gov. and the public are "jumping the gun". BS! He and Wilf would be the first ones to say "you had a chance to respond when we sent out the questionnaire". Well, they did.

No, I think that it is just another effort by "close friend" of Sid Hartman to pass off the costs of a new play pen on the fans. Think about it, folks! It is a great gig if you can get the taxpayers to build you a new playpen which increases the value of your franchise and then get the fans to help pay off your portion of the cost. Plus, Uncle Sidney will gladly carry the water for you when you do that just like a little puppy dog. What a deal!

Page 22 of the contract Dayton signed covers this. If he doesn't understand what he signed, that's HIS problem. Thanks voters. Really great decision electing this clown to make decisions on our behalf.

You can't really blame the Vikings management - if you find a sucker that gives you money, why not ask for more?

I'm sure that long before any survey went out the Vikings probably had inquiries from wealthy fans and corporations about the possibility of acquiring prime seats, say between the 40 yard lines, an affordable tax-deductible amenity for them for entertaining their clients. To satisfy that demand the simplest solution is to strip the current season ticket owners of these coveted seats through expensive seat licenses. In the end there will likely be all sorts of $1,000 - $2,000 seat licenses available - in locations where the field looks like an elongated postage stamp and the players look like purple blurs. That will be their offered compromise - they get their $20,000 - $30,000 seats and the public gets theirs. At that point Gov. Dayton will be claiming credit for solving the seat license crisis.
