The workers said give in or else. I guess they got the short end. Maybe they can be rehired for 1/2 pay of old job.
Unbelievable that the union workers would torpedo the company over an 8% pay cut that would have saved the company and their jobs. Of course I am sure the union is going to provide these 18,500 people with jobs now right?
When people blindly follow these people that lead the union movement this is what they get. Why would you allow a union official to think for you and make decisions for you that destroy your livelihood? I'll bet the union guy gets a paycheck nest week!
It is a matter of principle for my Union brothers. The only respect the worker receives from the man is only in the form of money. Otherwise management doesn't give a rip about you. While 18,000 may be losing their jobs, management is also losing theirs. I'll guess we'll see each other at the unemployment line.
Over 15000 were not striking. Thank you unions. I see where you really are a benefit for the workers.
The union reminds me of the dog and the hay proverb.
“The dog in the haystack can't eat the hay himself and he won't let the horse eat it either”
18,500 added to the unemployment line --- another feather in the cap for your labor unions.
The only respect the worker receives from the man is only in the form of money." Unions made this an us versus them proposition and some people drank the Kool-Ade and can live on obamacash and use their obamafone to call each other to say how awful it is.
So when a company is losing money, where are they supposed to the get the money to keep running? Contrary to popular opinion, there is no money tree that a company can go to pick a few dollars off of to stay in operation. Unions (and apparently 51% of the country) don't understand this fundamental law.
92% of something is a lot better then 100% of nothing. The good thing is, 1 less union to work for the democrats, and to donate union dues to the democratic cause.
