seems like one hundred years ago that the twins let Hunter go because he was "too old". Looking at it now, maybe it was because he had a personality?

Sid, quit pouring that Gopher Football kool-aid out. We aren't drinking it. They still remain irrelevant. But when they start beating Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio State every other year not every 50 years. Bring over the kool-aid.

The Wilfs have pulled off the largest scam in the history of Minnesota. An entire generation of mostly middle-income Minnesota taxpayers will bear the burden of Dayton's malfeasance.

I'd be less opposed to PSLs if the revenue went toward a retractable roof, but that's something you should have all figured out before the shovels are in the dirt and the stadium is being built.

Sir Sidney. Kind sir, I must have dozed off for a couple of years, please fill me in on what great things Dayton has done for Minnesota. I must admit that in my 7 decades I can't recall a Minnesota politician that is so adept at conducting an adolescent like temper tantrum. Please send him to time-out and let the adults play.

Sid! I've loved your columns since I was a kid delivering the Star evenings and Tribune Sundays... but this time you've gone just a bit too far over the edge. That YOU would suggest that governor Dayton is a grandstander? Well Mr. Hartman - it seems you've been in favor of every arena and stadium initiative in the Twin Cities over the past 50 years. By coincidnce, I don't remember your living in any of the communities for which you've promoted a sports venue! As for seat licenses, I think stadium supporters are now getting a taste of their own medicine. Expecting Minneapolitans to carry the lion's share of the cost of the stadium in perpetuity when they are the least likely to attend a contest there is a bit of irony indeed.

"An entire generation of mostly middle-income Minnesota taxpayers will bear the burden of Dayton's malfeasance." Oh, indirectly maybe, but face it, this sport has become a rich man's sport to attend in person. And please tell me where all you Dayton bashers (including you Hartman!) were when this whole process was in the works? If you want/need to place some blame, you might want to consider directing your anger at the people who are benefiting from all this. Guess who? It's not Dayton.

Sid, you say that Wilf came up with an additional $50 Million over what he pledged to make the stadium happen. Well initally Dayton pledged $300 Million MAX, with none of that coming out of the general fund. At the end he raised it to $400 Million and said that the general fund would indemnify that amount should e-tabs fall short. Looks to me that Wilf is $50 Million short. Over the past 6 years, the tayaxpayers have been 'hustled' out of $1,000,000,000.00 by wealthy individuals profiting single purpose facilities biul

Leave it to old Uncle Sidney to willingly carry the water for another owner of a professional sports team. Nothing new, of course!

To the anti-stadium crowd; it's too late, it's a done deal, even tho theres no "shovels in the ground". That debate ended awhile ago. Dayton's apparent ignorance of the financing in the contracts are now irrelevant. It's going to happen, even if the State tries to drag their feet. The Courts will enforce the State's end if they try to renege, and they will also make sure everyone on the other side of the table is well compensated for their time in preparation and trying of a court case. That means millions more the State will have to pay out if this tantrum proceeds.
