Can you really have standardized testing for ethics? I mean, sure you can then hold a personal 'technically ' accountable (they can't say they didn't know right from wrong, because they passed a test) but how to you measure ones spirit? Given our 'quasi-Christian' society (I say quasi with a realistic lens versus a judgmental one), I would rather see the General truly repent, ask for forgiveness, and stay on the job and earn his credibility back within his responsibilities. Quitting doesn't really seem to fit.

Years ago, after one of the many mortgage/bank debacles, Ethics courses were added to business and MBA degrees. How did that turn out.

oh goody, another worthless class I have to sit through. Society knows what ethics are they just chose not to do them unless it is convenient. Many years of bad habits are not going to be broken by a class.

Wait, you mean to tell me that cheating on my spouse is unethical? Maybe if someone had given me an ethics class I would have known that!

I say bring back the ability of a wronged spouse to sue the lover of their husband/wife and we'll see less people (mostly women) who are willing to become involved with a married person. A lighter pocketbook is a great motivator.

As a retired military officer, I can tell you that the training is just fine. The only problem is that the people who need it most already feel they are exempt...from both the training and the concept.
