for some reason people think that because we have electricity and cell phones, that societies cant go broke and end up like the great depression. the fact is money runs economies and societies, and when gov't gets too involved and creates entitlements that no body can pay for, well....

The reason for the riots now is the austerity plan, just like Romney and Ryan proposed, that was initiated in Europe over the past 2-3 years. All of you predicting dire consequences here because of our new president are just not looking at the facts of the matter. The US economy is and has been growing, albeit slowly, but at least it isn't shrinking like Europe's has been for the past year.
