Mr. McCain is no longer a relevant politician. His pronouncements are so partisan that he has become an annoyance to his own party.

Doesn't McCain realize the election is over? How much dirt you can sling at Obama doesn't matter anymore. Let's save everyone's time, money, and vitriol by letting administration find the issue, report it to congress, and correct it. There is more important fish to fry right now than to waste a bunch of resources on a witch hunt.

What a bunch of grandstanding nonsense. Sen. McCain knows, or he should know, what went down in Benghazi. The locals attacked the local CIA station house that was coordinating the latest illegal dirty war overseas. Our Al Quaeda mercenaries wouldn't stay securely bought, and the locals hate them as much as they hate us. Violence ensued. What more is there to know? What happened in Libya is no different, other than the local details, from what has happened and continues to happen in Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, etc. etc.

Many people complaining/pointing out the "different" explantions for what happened. It takes time to find out these things and if everyone would not expect the explanation immediately and let the investigation take place without having to give "immediate" answers which would more than likely not be totally accurate. McCain and others are trying to make to Political.

swmnguy, you really love this country don't you. Talking about our illegal wars and our Al Qaeda mercenaries. It is for people like you that the reason these hearings need to happen, so that there is no doubt that this administration knew what happened and then lied about it to the American people. Of course, you still won't care when the truth comes out because you are probably still fixated on how our government was involved in 9/11, when a Republican was in office.

"He said Rice spoke "in defiance" of the facts in the case" .... Rice spoke the talking points given to her by the CIA. That was reported from the beginning. And it looks like they were providing a cover story for their own activities there.

mittsthezhit: "swmnguy, you really love this country don't you." Yes he/she does! You, on the other hand are busy trying to contrive a scandal to pin on a scandal-free administration. You ignored the multiple attacks on U. S. embassies under the previous President: Yemen, Serbia, Syria, Athens, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. But people who love this country can overlook those, right? But if one attack happened under Obama, time for impeachment! Complete hypocrisy.

This is completely the administrations fault. It is not clear whether they are covering anything up or not. However all the administration had to do from the start is admit to the mistake. All they had to say is from the get go that they were misinformed, security should have been beefed up and we will do all we can not to ever let this happen again. That would have been case closed. Instead they denied and then lied and then repeated the lie. You make your own bed.....

You people just don't get it. The death of the 4 American's is a tragedy. The death of any American under any administration is a tragedy. Everyone of those people that died knew the risks that were involved with working at a consulate in a hostile country. They all were there willingly. Attacks on American's in these countries happen. They are unavoidable. We all understand that. When they went there willingly they went there expecting the US to provide adequate protection for them. It has been shown that they were denied that protection in the months leading to the attack. They were denied help while being under attack. After the attack the administration LIED about the reason's for it. The president lied during the debates about it. The Sec. of State lied about it. This isn't about the CIA. It isn't about why our people were there. It is about our military not being able to trust this administration to do the right thing if they ever need help. Nixon was going to be impeached for Watergate. A burglary. This is much more serious situation and you libs refuse to understand it.

In case you think my feelings about this are just because I am conservative and Obama is president, if this had happened under Bush's administration I would have been more critical. As someone who very easily could have been in that situation I would expect help when it was requested. This wasn't our guys going into another country without permission. This was an attack on US citizens on US soil. Now that the election is over the media will no longer be able to hide this story. The truth will come out and there better be consequences.
