I feel very privileged to watch this cat run, week in and week out. I might not even watch football this weekend... no, just kidding! I do know this though, I won't see a better football player, period.

I did not see a couple of my favorite all-time running back's names. Within the parameters of my experience, I think Peterson runs a lot like Hugh McIlhenny (sp.?) and Gayle Sayers.

And if we could ever deploy a downfield passing game then it would be a level playing field for Adrian and our running game --- instead of the current 8 -10 in the box defending against our running game and just challenging us to throw downfield. Not unlike the Tarvaris years. Take a chance, Lezlie.

5 of the last 6 games will be against some very good teams, including two against the Bears and one against Houston...very tough to run against. The two Packer games, while their defense isn't in the top category, their offense will control the ball and Peterson won't be on the field much. Let's wait until the end of the season to give him the MVP.

zoilov: very true! I don't want people to think that's a negative statement, but you DO have to take a look down the road and see what the schedule is like, and it's very unfriendly. However, that being said, AP JUST torched the Lions, Seahawks and Buccaneers over the past 3 weeks and they are all within the top 5 for run defenses. AP has good history with the Packers and Bears as well. So we'll see. All I have to say is don't blow your knee out again because we need you! However, AP is the most fun back to watch since Barry Sanders, and even though that wasn't very long ago, most NFL fans should know what kind of an honor that is to say!

If we don't make the playoffs though he won't win the MVP. I can't recall any player on a team that didn't make the playoffs to win the MVP trophy. Plus it is so hard for a RB to win the MVP in this day an age with it being a passing league.

Well said - without AP, this team would look a lot like Jacksonville

AP has had some of his most impressive games against the bears and a couple at Chicago. I don't think it really matters who we face, he's going to get his yards.. Key is as a team, we cannot turn the ball over and ponder has to continue to get the ball out into those tight windows like he did against the lions and has to make the success in the running game an advantage with play action passing.

He would be 150 yds further along if they had run him more in the first Lions game and Seattle. He was killing them in both.
