Ranked-choice voting system would value moderation

No, RCV doesn't value moderation. Consider the 3-way election between Right, Moderate, and Left: 35%: R > M > L 15%: M > R > L 15%: M > L > R 35%: L > M > R If it were just R vs. M, M wins 65:35. And if it were just L vs. M, M wins, again, 65:35. But when all three run? M is the first one to be eliminated, and L and R can keep fighting it out just like the did before.
