The victims got some minimal help, no thanks to the heartless governor who could have cared less of people were horribly injured or killed. Hey tpaw. It was always about the money and only about the money. You just can't get much more cold blooded than that. And you thought you were entitled to run for office at the highest level in this country? Oh, wait, what am I saying? Of course you could. You are cut from the same heartless cloth.

This collapse had nothing to do with lack of spending on roads and bridges. There was a recommendation to reinforce the bridge, and MNDOT got almost to the point of letting the reinforcement project for bids before they canceled the project. They canceled the project because they felt drilling thousands of holes would weaken the bridge. They didn't cancel the project to save money. MNDOT had the 35W bridge scheduled to be replaced around 2015 before it collapsed.

docdoc123, Please provide facts to support your criticism of Pawlenty. Wish Strib would look into final compensation for each victim. One would hope there was a reasonable settlement commensurate with each of the 158 victim's suffering, especially given that this article says $86.6 million was paid directly to them.
