With bills being lost and no matching socks this sounds like a mess. Start with one room and organize it. Keep it that way, make it a priority. Move on to the other rooms. Children can learn to straighten up their toys after playing. They are actually at the age when they think it is fun. Once that is done the stress may decrease as well as more family time.

Sounds like an organizational problem. A 3 year old and 5 year old boys are challenging, but potty training, sleepless nights, and bottles are over with. His wife might be overwhelmed, or lonely, or depressed, or feeling really stuck. She may need to simply get out of the house, even if a part time job only pays day care. Or, she may simply be unfocused at the same time focus becomes really necessary with all that needs to be done with children that age. It sounds like both parents need a break and some regular alone time in the week, separately and with each other. Neither of their batteries are being recharged for the coming week.

"I just moved across the country for my fiancé. I left my job for him. I am only getting unemployment insurance"...SOOOO, you LEFT your job for a guy and now live off of unemployment, or our taxes? You CHOSE to leave your job for a man you should not be receiving unemployment. Get a job and help out more. Im reather bothered by the fact that you obviously feel entitiled to this, there is something wrong with our government when you can choose to leave your job to get closer to someone else and still get unemployment.

You CAN'T get unemployment for leaving your job without cause (i.e., for your boyfriend), at least in Minnesota. Pretty sure that's true everywhere. She's either making it up or isn't share all the details.
