Banham, Riche get some help as Gophers top Villanova

There were multiple contributors -- veterans and newcomers alike -- in the Gophers' win over Villanova to capture the Best Buy Classic title.

What a difference a day makes. Gophers were much sharper today on both sides of the ball. Nice to see Riche tearing it up consistently now to go along with Banham. Kayla Hirt is beginning to show a nice jump shot, Cotton is doing a great job of getting to the free throw line and Noga did an excellent job of boxing out today. Nice to see the Gophers out to a 2-0 start against two BCS league teams. Granted, both games were at home and neither Villanova or Washington State is a top team in their leagues (and a cellar dweller WSU's case), but these wins will look a lot better on the resume than either of those that they may get in the Subway Classic next week. Way to go ladies. Go 2-0 next weekend and pick up some more hardware. Go Gopher!
