The only call I disagreed with was near the end of the game with about three minutes to go, and fourth and one.... we punted from inside their forty I believe, and it went into the end zone and came out to the 20. We had been dominating the offensive line all day long and even got a QB sneak for a first down easily earlier in the game. It would have put the game away because Illinois only had one time out left.... We gave them a chance, with the wind, and three minutes left, before their fumble... It all worked out and I hope they win a couple more games to move on to a decent bowl game.

I guess my impression of the day was the opposite; I thought the play-calling offensively was very timid. Defensive calls were OK overall, especially when the Illini were against the wind, and likely not to pass. In any case, congratulations, Gophers. Take this and build on it next week at a very tough Nebraska game.

Recruiting is everything in college football. To bad there isn't a way the NFL does it so there is parity at all levels of college ball. Then coaching and hard work pays off in the end.

It does exist at the NFL level, in a way, matthew. It's called free agency.

Go GO Gophers........They may not go to the best bowl game but it is an extra month of practice and they are a young team.
