It's a lower tier bowl but any bowl which extends not only the season but practice time for the team is a good bowl.

My how the coverage has fallen. A big win at Illinois and the photo is from a home game at TCF. Too cheap to either buy an AP photo, or better yet they send a Star Trib Photographer on the road with Phil.

They look like a team that's improving- they are following Kills blueprint from his other stops- a conservative game plan on offense this week made for a boring game but I'd rather be boring and win than exciting and win- I hope they give neb. A good game next week..

I still do not understand the viciousness of criticism of this coach and team the past couple of weeks. There is no comparison to the coaching or level of play from the previous regime-especially considering this team is mostly underclassmen and several frosh that normally would be red-shirted have needed to jump right in. The defense is far superior to anything seen here the past several years, and a very young OL is really competitive. With the exception of Iowa, they have won every game they have had a chance to win. From absolute chaos two years ago to bowl eligible. Well done.

Let's face it -- our "bowl" game will be akin to winning "Miss Congeniality" at a beauty contest, but coming out of the depths of the Wacker Era I guess beggars can't be choosers......lol

Enjoy this victory because the Gophers are going to get beaten and beaten bad the next two games. Wouldn't it be funny if they get to play North Carolina in a Bowl game?

In the B1G Basement Bowl, a win is better than a loss, but I'm not impressed by a marginal win over a very bad Illinois team. Win one of the next two games and show something meaningful.

I actaully think that they may be able to play with the Cornhuskers and the Spartans and maybe even win one of them. If they do or if they even play both teams very close, the decision to pay a very average team to get off of the Gophers 2013-14 schedule will seem all the more embarassing.
