The DFLer's Senate campaign said that his corporation, AFI, unknowlingly neglected to pay taxes because it stopped doing business in the state numerous years ago. A California tax official said that AFI needed to dissolve itself. The GOP sees a pattern.

This is the second instance of shady, or at best shoddy business management by Al Franken in as many months. If this man cannot manage his own "small Minnesota corporation" why does he think anyone would trust him with issues of world wide importance? Too, McIntosh's statement doesn't adress the question. "Why is Al Franken's company forfeit to the state of California"? Saying that Franken hasn't done business in CA. leaves open the very likely fact that he *can't* do business there because he failed to run an honest company.

That more than 90% (95%??) of Als' campaign monies have come from outside Minnesota. Outside Minnesota. Why can't he get the locals to donate to his cause? At least the Green Party does almost 100% of it's fundraising from local voters. Even Stormin' Normin get almost 2/3 of his $$ locally.

It might be, of course, but possibly also "entitled", "arrogant", "unused to scrutiny by other than a friendly audience", or maybe the guy just doesn't take rules seriously.

Okeedokee. Al's policy is to take money from children's charities and deny he knew anything about it until documents proved otherwise. Al's policy is not to pay for his employees workers compensation and deny he knew anything about it until documents proved otherwise. Al's policy is not to pay income taxes and deny it was his responsibility to know he was supposed to. Al's policy is to lie, cheat and steal from kids. Questions? Problems? I thought not.

"A campaign spokeswoman said Franken was operating under the advice of an accountant who believed that when the corporation stopped doing business in California that no further filing was required." Do you not find it ironic how it is always somebody else's fault with Franken? This follows the party line of the DLF of no personal accountability! http://wcco.com/local/al.franken.unpaid.2.701193.html

Al Franken is not a good choice for MN at all. I just cannot believe the party once again is looking at name recognition instead of who would have made a good candidate. Many local democrats may just stay home this cycle, I think I will if the DFL picks another fool who is a loser right out of the gate. What has happened to the MN DFL party anymore? I guess no moderates need apply anymore?
