"If you're not consistent, they're going to come at you with waves of attack." You mean the goph fans?

The players seem to understand what they need to do to be more successful. Now they just have to go out there on the ice and get it done. No let ups, no mercy!

Christian Horn was a pretty good player for Benilde. I expect for him to be a factor as the season goes on. Not sure why he hasnt been out there, as a Winger at least.. But Marshall, Parenteau and Holl have been good at the Forward position. Glad Serratore got moved up, he gets after it! Need some grinders out there. Go Gophers!

Reilly scares me every time he touches the puck.

I have seen a tendency in this group over the past two seasons to put up some pretty flat first periods. They need to get past that, the first period sets the pace for the whole game and the G's have not been doing that. I also see them working on a very strong puck contol game getting themselves some nice stretches of Offensive zone time, however the payoff in scoring hasn't quite come together yet. Goaltending and 'D', the 'D' has had some coverage lapses at times and have paid the price for them. Wilcox has played good for the most part but I'm betting he wishes he could have back at least half of the goals scored on him so far. I can only recall one score where he got smoked. it seems if he can see the puck and position himself accordingly, he'll make the stop. Wish the team looked better overall. This weekend is an opportunity to get some solid work and effort in. Good luck Gophs...

Why is it that Don Lucia's Gophers always need to refocus and get off to better starts. Seems the players come and go, but this is a consistent problem with the team. Maybe Don needs to rethink his approach to coaching. They have the talent to be a number one team.

The big scorers have not been leading. Rau and Bjugstad need to pick it up and I'm sure they're aware of it. As long as they come around I think they will be okay. Alt had been rock solid his first two years and I thought looked like a solid NHL prospect. Hopefully he can regain form. I'd like to see Marshall back on "D" also. He was one of thier best last year.

As mu ch fun as it was to watch, steamrolling Michigan State the first weekend probably contributed to the Gophers' lapses in focus. They have a tough schedule over the coming month and a half so better come home with four points this weekend. As for Mike Reilly, he is no Aaron Ness but, well, hey....maybe he is.
