McGuire agreed to repay $618 million in illegal back-dated stock options to United Health Care, and pay a fine of $7 million for accepting them in the first place. He was forced to walk away with only $800 million from the company. What a guy. He'll definitely have trouble getting along with the Wilfs, who also love money above all else.

Mike -- please correct this glaring error in your reporting. You wrote: "...the Vikings, whose owners have exclusive but temporary rights to land an MLS franchise once the team's new stadium is built." They do not have exclusive rights to an MLS franchise. They have exclusive temporary rights to field an MLS team in the new stadium. If Mr. McGuire decides he wants to pony up $100M to buy an MLS franchise for Minnesota, I'm sure MLS will be glad to take it. The "exclusivity" to play in the stadium was granted to Wilf by the State of Minnesota, and is NOT an exclusive franchise right granted by MLS. They'll just a) have to play there games somewhere other than Wilf's new stadium, or b) strike a deal with Wilf to play in the new stadium.
