Republicans continue to push for lower rates across the board. That theory, known as trickle-down economics and dating to the era of President Ronald Reagan...
And under Reagan taxes went up how many times? Trickle down has never worked, and no Republican can point to any examples of where it did. Even Reagan and Bush 41 conceded that lower taxes didn't necessarily help.
That doesn't mean I want higher taxes. Carefully cutting expenses is one way to start. The drastic cuts Republicans want are too much.
Please let all the tax cuts expire. Lets watch heads explode when the lowest tier has a 50% increase in taxes. Plus, let the cuts go into effect! If we cannot handle the mandated cuts that will be imposed, we will never cut anything. The cliff is here and the cliff was made largely by our commander in chief. I can't wait for 4 more years of blaming Bush.
"Please let all the tax cuts expire." - I agree. People keep saying that cons are just protecting out rich masters, what I'm against is targeting one group of people. It may sound great when it's not your group, but your group could easily be next once that box is open. Let them expire as they are or make them permanent. You really want to fix the problems, you may end up with a deficit of political capitol.
