Cut spending in Military, Public broadcasting, Planned parenthood, aid to foreign countries. let the bush tax cuts expire.

Barry, slightly more than half of Americans agree with you. The other half voted to fire you a few days ago. In addition to the uber rich paying more let's see you CUT some govt spending.

elmore, Defense spending is the biggest part of the budget, are you ok with cutting Defense spending?

Defense is about 1/5 of the total budget, same with SS and Medicare/Medicaid. With that being said IMO defense does need to be cut along with some social programs. Everyone thinks cuts need to be made, just not mine,is what everyone says. We do not still need military bases in every country that has ever had one.

0.2% tax on all financial transactions would balance the budget and pay off the US debt in 5 years, without the need for any other tax--corporate, income, medicare, social security. In 2011 there were 3 quadrillion dollars worth of transactions in the US (BIS). O.2% of this is 6 tillion dollars--3 times our current Federal revenues. Nobody, Dems nor Repubs, talk about this; and it truly is the way out of our mess, with no harm to 99% of the people.
