Actually, Marquis only turned out to be a worse move. Yet, looking at his stats even as a fan, the guy should have done better. 2) Zumaya, he just blew out the elbow, I hope when he comes back, he does a tryout with the Twins! can"t be a problem with the elbow if he does. 4) Nishi-they had to bring him up, what do we have? all baseball senses! and now we know!!!!

I agree with nosraep that giving Zumaya a small-potatoes contract and bringing up Nishioka for one last try were not bad moves. The results were awful, but that doesn't mean the decisions were.

I believe signing Nishioka was a Bill Smith production. Terry Ryan had to see what Nishioka could do with the money the Twins were paying him.

The biggest move Ryan made was his first, jettisoning the AAA staff thus sending a message throughout the organization. TR has an organizational rebuilding task on his hands. It's not just a matter of adding a player or two.
