This IS his second season Chip. Here's my evaluation....HE STINKS! I don't need to see anymore...how much of the Twins pitching staff did we need to see to evaluate that? Same here.

Chip, I disagree. This team could make the playoffs with some consistent QB play. Ponderlicious is pondering too much on the field. The first 5 games I was thinking hey we drafted OK, now I'm very, very concerned. Play Webb when Ponder melts down. Maybe this has to do with pass blocking, lets go line. Hold the bad guys out of the pocket and let the kid toss it out there.

I say you give Mcleod Bethel Thompson a try. Frankly, the guy has a cannon for an arm; and seems to have that intangible to him that Ponder seems to lack. He's also a playmaker if you watched him in College; and even in the preseason. What do they have to lose playing the kid if Ponder and Webb both suck.

It's not all Ponder for sure. But what do you do? Play Webb? We've been there. Put Bethel-Thompson in and see what he can do. If that doesn't work, draft 3 QB's next year.

Stick with Ponder and Frazier will lose the locker room! This talent evaluation stuff is a bunch of BS. This is a win now league and there are several rookies that are out there doing just fine!

Webb has quietly waited in the wings while the franchise quarterback is allowed one mistake after another. He deserves a chance. Ponder had his.

19 games is far and enough time to evaluate your Qb. Today's players are playing as soon as they get into the league and many of them are succeeding. To ride it out for the season is grossly unfair for the next in line, the team and the fan base. The object is to put your best on the field and not make excuses for continual poor play at quarterback. Ponder's last three game stats are unbelievable in today's passing style of football. Also, how is the offensive coordinator not getting called on the table with 3 games in a row like this? It looks to get really ugly if no changes are made. Chicago & Green Bay must be licking their chops if the Vikings intend to stay the course.

The Vikings are learning, and learning fast, that once opposing teams figure out what you are doing they will then make every attempt to shut down the things that the offense does well. Vikes had early season success passing to Harvin & Rudolph and running Peterson, now teams are taking away Rudolph and to some extent Harvin, and teams are also making adjustments at half to stack the box to try to slow Peterson. Other NFL teams have success because they have enough talent, enough will power, make better in-game/halftime adjustments etc. to counter the opposing defense adjustments. The past several games the Vikes have been absolutely unable to counter the adjustments of the opposing 'd' because they have QB who too quickly in the early season became nearly completely dependent on two targets (and Peterson). Ponder had such a security blanket with Rudolph & Harvin and now that teams have taken that away he seems completely unable to adjust to it. Bill Musgrave also gets blame as he is another (supposedly Childress was also) "QB guru". Right now Musgrave and Ponder do not seem to be on the same page. While one rookie QB on Sunday throws for over 400 yards in one game our 2nd year QB is struggling to get close to 70 yards, for the entire game. The next closest passing yardage in a game Sunday was still about 60 yards better than Ponder's day at the office. It used to be when a QB had a off day he threw for around 110-125 yards, Ponder & Musgrave have now set the standards even lower for what is considered a bad day. Hopefully, there is no where to go but up for this "passing" game.
