Here comes the Pam Borton train wreck... Choo Choo! Enough is enough Norwood. Make a change soon.

The team this year is going to have a rough time of it once B1G games start. The only solid player we have inside right now is Riche and she still misfires on too many 5 foot and in shots in traffic. Loberg, Hirt, and Johnson are all too soft to set and keep a position inside and will get pushed around if forced to take that role. They are all more 4's than 5's. Hopefully Zahui B can provide some bulk inside and not end up in the Borton doghouse like Dvorak and Harper did in the past. Also, if Banham doesn't stop putting herself on the floor so much, she's not going to last the season. I swear she spent more time on the floor yesterday than the guys who installed the floor!!

I think Hirt might be able to bulk up enough to bang a little bit down low, but Johnson does seem to be a slightly shorter version of Katie Loberg and I fear for her safety under the rim given her build once she starts going toe to toe with some of the bigger forwards in the league. This was a sloppy game and the Gophers will have to step it up considerably this coming weekend. I'm still waiting to see what this season brings. The Gophers really have to go 20 wins or better this year given the talent base. Banham, Riche, Kellogg, Loberg, and Cotton/Bailey have the makings of a formidable group and could win a lot of games this year if they get some momentum. Non-conference should be at least 11 wins (assuming they can pick up where they left off last year) which means 9-7 in the B1G gets them there. If not 20 wins and an NCAA berth the AD really has to clean house while Banahm still has a couple of years left in Maroon and Gold.
