I believe this case is being prosecuted by the Blue Earth County Attorney who obviously jumped the gun on this and now doesn't know how to drop it quietly without egg on the face. This most definitely was only prosecuted because of the Sandusky case at Penn State being resolved at about the same time as this broke. We need some people of courage at BLCA to do the right thing and drop these charges and at MSU to give him is job back with a big apology. But I don't have a lot of faith in people in charge having courage today.

It's interesting that's for sure. Why does the prosecutor's office have no comment from anyone regarding this case? What has happened to the folks on this board who said in the first week that Hoffner should have a cell next to Sandusky? And, it's no surprise that MSU is saying nothing. When this case is dismissed, I hope Hoffner sues the prosecutor and sheriff and anyone else he can. Why was the investigation not completed before the charging of the case? If this case is dismissed, will the prosecutor be dismissed as well? It's time for this witch hunt to end TODAY. The prosecutor should go into court, face Mr. Hoffner, look him in the eye and apologize for his misconduct.

Nothing but character assasination. Said...the man's life, career, and family is in ruin due to an over zealous prosecutor overstepping and misinterpreting some family videos as something else. My family has photos of me on a bear rug and in a tub naked as a child. Guess they should have been sent to prison rather than being the fantastic parents that they were. Sad....Sad....Sad.... Mr. Hofner, on behalf of the people of Minnesota....I apologize...

I think we have a picture from 20 years ago of one of our kids laughing and taking a bath in the kitchen sink; should I lock myself in a cell for 20 years, or just kill myself now?

This has been just appalling prosecutorial overreach. Give this man his life back already.

The prosecuter will NEVER apologize and NEVER back down. That is how these people work.... All for the billable hours (PAY!!)..they want to be hero's and now will be heels.... The city of Mankato owes this man and his family a big I AM SORRY.. and maybe some money to boot...I have seen other people get railroaded by Prosecuters but this is one of the worst... Who ever the Prosecuter is... SHAME ON YOU!!.. you need to lose your job !!

Some prosecutors tend to back themselves into corners and can't see a way out. They fight on even if they know they made a mistake, as in this case. He should drop the charges, that were brought way too early, and let everyone get on with their life. Enough damage has been done to the family and the school. And congratulations to the temp coach and the players for such a good season. That couldn't have been easy under the circumstances.

"Hoffner has...been busy trying to convince a city and a judge...that the videos of his naked children...do not constitute pornography." He's forced to prove his INNOCENCE rather than procecutors proving he's guilty because they have no proof of their charges and are continuing this case simply because they don't want to face the embarassment of starting a ridiculous witchhunt against an innocent man.

Apologize? It'll never happen. If they admit they were wrong, guess what! BIG payday coming the coach's way. Hopefully the Hoffners stay undefeated as well this year!! I get the concern, but this was wrong from the get-go.
