Okay, enough already. Someone please explain why Justin Holl was on the ice late in the game...or even has a roster spot. Someone also explain why Mankato that was outscored 10-2 last weekend beat a MUCH more talented team..and in fact whipped them. Mr. Don Lucia seems to never improve his NHL drafted players. This was not a fluke. Mankato handed it to our Gophers. Lucia better realize he must actually work to collect his taxpayer funded salary.

This is a new hockey year and it appears the Gophers are probably a very average WCHA team this year. They have struggled in each conference game so far and they haven't even played any top WCHA teams yet! And last place Mankato just walked all over the Gophers tonight.

Relax...It's a very young season. No team has proven to be dominant yet. Just because a team looks amazing doesn't mean they will win all the games right away. Gophers have a lot of talent and will learn how to play together. I was at the game tonight and Mankato came to play. Right now the Gophers are still one weekend away from leading the WCHA. And for the Lucia-haters...just go back to your caves. Explain how he hasn't developed NHL talent...Wheeler, Okposo, Kessel, Bjugstad, Haula...uh, should I go on? Gophers will be fine!

This once proud program continues to fall further and further.. When will it ever end? A bunch of overated primodona's with NO coaching. Why would any good MN HS player choose this program? None of these upper classman on this roster have improved one bit since arriving at the U.. Buddish and Bjugstad lead the pack..

Hats off to the MSUM for coming up with a game plan that prevailed over the #2 team in the NCAA. Even the mistake of going to the box on Friday night was a key adjustment on Saturday with a much stronger PK. Coach Hastings no doubt is appreciative of the extra hour tonight to enjoy this glorious victory, regardless of how unlikely it seemed coming into the series. Can't wait to see how great Alaska is next weekend as the #2, or lower, gophs arrive in Anchorage to make another over-matched, bottom dweller into an instant contender with all new found skill, talent and goal tending without nearly the number of draft picks and super stars!

Its early in the season folks so don't get into a druthers. When its all over the Gophers will be a top rated team. Good grief the goalie had a less than sterling game wondering and not playing good angles at all yet the Gophes were within striking distance all night until the open netter. The Gophs are experimentingwith line changes and probably go back to a goalie rotation before its over. Go Gophs!!!!

What amazes me the most personally, is how many Gopher fans come on here and can still continue to stick up for what's going on with this program. I get the loyalty thing folks., but all i can figure is it must be family and friends of the player's that are too blind to see that Very few of their boys have made any improvement/progress at all since pulling on that M sweater.Especially the kids that have been there more than 2 year's. The proof is in the pudding folks. Year after year.. "This is our year".. Yea ok! This is going to be the most frustrating year of all. I too cannot understand how any Elite MN HS player would pick the U of M, The smart kids go elsewhere.

Forget the cliched excuse that the "season is young." HEY! Last I checked, it's young for everybody, and their opponents are skating just fine. The Gerbils apparently are waiting for the Christmas holiday to figure out how to play WCHA hockey.

Seriously we're barely a month into the season. It would make no sense for Lucia to have the team peaking right now. Elite HS players might be choosing the real MN hockey team because they are almost always a factor in when it comes time for the playoffs. Get back to me later in the season!
