Under the guise of purporting to tell an objective story, it's amazing how often liberals & their mouthpieces in the "media" always end up finding all this division amoung people with a different political view from themselves(witness:President Divideus) . If there's one thing I've learned, the division is NEVER close to being as significant as they would like people to think it is. Nice try though.

We are supposed to be a land of freedom and one that allows people with diverse viewpoints to live together in harmony - all seeking "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." There's no reason for any one set of religious beliefs to be enshrined in the constitution over and above anyone else's, or over the beliefs of the non-religious. Let each church, synagogue and congregation do as they wish within their own faith, but keep the government out of choosing sides on religious issues.

I tire of the Church using my money for sex abuse ligation and judgements. Also against gays who harm no one. But when you have a bunch of crazy old men, they do crazy things. I now give my church donations to Planned Parenthood. And, will continue to do until the Church joins the 21st century.

jlesrib. You are so right. The Catholic church can tell it's own members what to do and each individual Catholic can decide what in their own heart is right. It's not their business to regulate what every Jewish, Protestant and non religious person can do with their personal lives. They are taking their god complex a little far when they go into other peoples homes and tell them what they can and cannot do. I was raised Catholic and spent my last eight years in school in a uniform. I have had my disagreements with the Church but now they have lost me. Forever. I am so disappointed in a group that preaches love of your fellow man, turn the other cheek and love everyone as you would have them love you. Where were you for the alter boys? I was taught in Catholic school that catholic meant all encompassing, welcoming all. I am no longer Catholic, I'm catholic. Colleen Garland, Good Shepherd School, St. Margaret's Academy.

This is just the birth control situation redux. The vast majority of practicing Catholics who are child-bearing age women ignore the teaching of the church on this matter. Trying to make the faithful feel like hypocrites in such matters is a losing proposition. Time for the Bishop Nienstadt's of the world to listen to the faithful.

I want what I want when I want it & if you don't give it to me, you're a bigot.

A sin to vote no? I would love to go to that priest's church, walk up the communion line, hold my hand out, say AMEN to the Body of Christ, and spit the host right on the floor in front of him! Hmmmm, I got to look that church up!

God Bless Archbishop Nienstedt! It is truly refreshing to have a leader who defends our faith with such courage. Have individual Catholics made mistakes over the years?....Of course, we all do! Let's not forget though that the Catholic Church feeds more people, clothes more people, houses more people, and educates more people than any other organization in the world.

It's ok to be Christian and gay. It's ok to be Catholic and gay. It is ok to vote No. Please do not let a human dictate what your true beliefs are. Vote no for all the youth who are struggling with their sexuality, vote no for the gay couples, life is all about love.
