Unimpressed. Someone will get shot "by accident" again this year. How can this be a sport? It is a sport to all the vendors who collect $$$$ for guns, bullets, and liquor. They have fun all the way to the bank.
Best of luck to all! To the nay sayers out there: Hunting is the safest outdoor sport there is! MN DNR, thanks for the highly successful Firearm Safety and Hunter Education course that has made this the safest and most ethical sport available in the nation.
and if that is how much orange you are wearing be warned that you may get shot or at least ticketed by the DNR. Could have at least put a picture of a legal deer hunter.
Nay, I say.

The following is from page 24 of the regulation handbook. He meets the law with no problem, "Deer Season: Also, you may not hunt or trap during any open season where
deer may be taken by firearms (including special hunts, early antlerless, youth seasons,
and muzzleloader) under applicable laws and ordinances unless the visible portion
of your cap and outer clothing above the waist, excluding
sleeves and gloves, is blaze
orange. Red is not a legal color, except for those who qualify under the Religious
Freedom Restoration Act of 1993. Blaze orange
least 50 percent blaze orange within each square foot. This restriction
does not apply
to migratory waterfowl
hunters on waters or in a stationary shooting location
trappers on waters."
Mankato - I stand corrected then. I prefer to wear more.
Had to end my hunt early today - had some inconsiderate individuals set up 30 yards away in my shooting lane. They saw me...didn't care. I think the DNR does a wonderful job on habitat for public hunting lands, but you can't manage foolish and inconsiderate people. Very disappointing.
I have a $5 bet each year with a buddy in Wisconsin (Packerstan). The bet is which state will kill the most deer hunters. I've collected every one of 8 years and expect to win again this year.
