This is why Patrick is one of the best baseball writers in America.

Reusse is at his best when he writes about small-time sports like preps and D-III. You can tell he really gets annoyed by the pro's and D-I scholarship programs. Which is why I like him.

I played for coach Hanson at Osseo back in the late 1960. He was way ahead of his time in coaching high school football.

Last night's game was fantastic, and Patrick captures the game well in this piece. Tusler was unbelievable, and Kray was very good, but E.P. just stayed with their plan and kept grinding Osseo down with their big boys up front on both sides of the ball. Kill needs to get Tusler in a Gopher uniform. He has more heart and fight in him than just about any player in the state. He's won a zillion varsity games in hoops and football against most of the big dogs in each sport. Anyone who watched him last night saw why he helps his teams win so much.

Umm Patrick, Edina is number one having beaten four of the eight teams left in the tournament field including EP. Why the fixation on EP?
