Quarterback Christian Ponder should expect a similar approach from Seattle.

Ponder made a lot more mistakes than that. He airmailed Harvin and Rudolph at least three times, and failed to pull the trigger on a number of others. Note to the entire offense and coaching staff: Step your game up!

The last time we started a rookie quarterback, he had two Hall of Fame quality receivers who made miraculous circus catches on a regular basis. I'm hoping Ponder can be as good as Culpepper, but we just simply don't have a Carter or a Moss, and never will again. Just gotta be patient, this is gonna take a few years.

They may stink for 20 more years, but at least they have a new taxpayer funded stadium. Zygmund and Mark know how to make a buck.

ok, so you can't put ALL the blame on Ponder for the lack of offense...just a majority of the blame.

I don't suppose any of this could be attributed to poor coaching?

Ponder is running out of excuses, it's time to stop saying what you need to getter better on and do it!!

Saying from the day he was drafted, based on a good friend who lives in Florida...PONDER IS NOT A FRANCHISE QB. Nothing has changed and his play supports that statement. Spielman panicked to take a QB. Much like he panicked when he took Gerhart. 2 wasted high round draft choices. Prediction...TRUE rookie Wilson will outplay Ponder.

The viking's low budget amatuer coaching staff and proven loser Spielman as the general manager are to blame!!!

Let's see if I understand everyone. Fire the GM (he only got 4 starters in his first year with sole control of the draft). Fire the coaching staff (2 1/2 years is more than enough time to get to the Super Bowl). Bench Ponder and bring in Webb, Bethel-Thompson, John David Booty, Thigpen, or turn back the clock and throw the Washington game for RG3. (after all, a 2nd year QB should be playing like Payton Manning did his 2nd year, NOT like Eli Manning did his 2nd year. Wait, which one has more Super Bowl wins?) Trade Peterson for draft choices because he'll be no good in a year or 2 (let's see, where does he rank in rushing yards? And this from the same posters who want to fire the GM for bad draft choices). Waive Kluwe because his mind isn't on the game. (because nobody has bad stretches and all the other players focus on football 24/7. Wonder how many seconds before he's claimed?) And finally, have the Wilfs sell to someone local that actually cares about our community. (How about Harv and Marv? They'd never move the Vikes to New Orleans. They already have a team.) How hire a new GM, new coaching staff, draft a new QB, RB, backup RB, 2 WRs, 2 CBs, RT, P, 2 LBs, and then fire / waive them all in 2 1/2 years when we're still not Super Bowl bound.

The key line in this article referred to the defense stopping Peterson with no respect for the passing game. Stop Peterson, limit Harvin, and you win the game. It's a simple formula used every single week against them with play calling predictability being the focus. Don't get me started on the viking defense "featuring" that every popular Tampa 2, where the linebackers get to cover wide receivers over the middle and the safeties are so far back from the line of scrimmage, they are non-factors in most games. Sorry, but I am not very optimistic even though they are 5-3.
