On the faith beat: Getting by on $31.50 a week in groceries

The "Food Stamp Challenge" program organized by a group of Minnesota faith leaders aims to explore that question by giving participants a glimpse into the challenge of eating on little money.

while I am not saying that religion has nothign to do with the poor, I believe the Star Tribune has plenty of other columnists talking about justice, and I wish this column would stick with religion. That said, I am a single man earning well into six figures, and while I could spend more on groceries, I easly get by on 130 a month. Yes, I dont buy organic, I do cut coupons, use them on double coupon day, and shop for things only on sale when possible. But the point is I find it easy to eat for less than this.
