Reyer: What's behind new worker's lack of engagement?

You know, perhaps the new worker is happy right where she is? I worked in an office and no one, I mean no one, wanted to go up the ladder. You know why? Because the moment a supervisior could come into the break room, everyone shut up. Afraid to say one word. And the pay raise for the next ladder was cheap and not worth going for. $1500.00 per year was the next ladder. No wonder no one wanted it. Let the new worker learn her job and accept it if she will be happy right where she already is. Not everyone wants to be President.
