R.K. worked with my ma in Gentle Leader for many years and he was a good family friend. I used to joke that I knew when my ma was out of town, because R.K. would start calling me for information or messages. Thinking about his contribution to the world and my life, I realized that I adopted his approach to dealing with behavior (both animals and kids): appeal to their nature to guide them gently toward productive and cooperative behavior. I never put a Gentle Leader on my kids, but I certainly did learn to try to bring out the best in people. Thanks R.K. We will miss you! PS Cabbage soup on Monday in your honor!
