Can we retire "it is what it is" please? It was cool the first year, now it just makes people who use it seem like they are stupid and unable to express themselves verbally.

Anybody here think the defense giving up 200+ yards on the ground last game is a little more of a reason over Ponder that they lost the game? No? Then you don't know the Vikings game plan for this entire year. Ground and pound, with a few swing passes, minimizing mistakes on offense. And have your defense make stops on 3rd downs and get the offense the ball back. That didn't work against Tampa. It can absolutely work against Seattle, who plays the same type of game. 23-19 Vikings.

Like Mike Tyson said...everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face. And every defense is stout and has a plan until AP gets rolling. Coming off a torn up knee, he is still the best in the NFL. BTW: I'm amazed at all the people that know Ponder is worthless less than 20 starts into a career. It's amazing you guys aren't running an NFL team with such knowledge. The Vikings are on a three year program. So far, at 5-3, they are ahead of schedule. If they finish 8-8 this year, they are AHEAD of schedule.

I'm not sure if the lack of a passing game is Ponder's fault. It could be the play calling, the wide receivers, the line protection, or Ponder's reluctance (or inability) to throw deep, or Ponder's lack of finding the open receiver, or Ponder holding on to the ball too long, or Ponder not throwing it away when he should, or Ponder's inaccuracy......o.k.,it's Ponder!

The National media is now laughing at how bad Ponder is. He may have looked good in a few games but Ponder does NOT have enough game to play at the NFL level. Its truly sad the Vikings are wasting all these years on a QB that will never take this team anywhere. I am personally sick of it as a fan of 40+ years. They grab this 5th round pick at number 12 overall. Just sickening.......

Peterson is a great back and Harvin is the early season MVP, but if Ponder can't establish a deep pass threat, the Vikings will lose. 8 games into the season, and the opposition knows all it has to do is slow Harvin and Peterson...single coverage on the wide receivers. Until they prove different, the runs and bubble screens will be tough going.
