For a mere $2 million, the Twins could look like heroes in St. Paul by completing financing for a Saints ballpark at the other end of the Central Corridor line. Call it a gesture of thanks to a city that produced Jack Morris, Paul Molitor, Dave Winfield and Joe Mauer.

Why are the Twins involved this? They aren't needed. Tell the Twins to "buzz off".

snoebird - why in the world would the Twins do something like that. If anything, why aren't you holding out your hand to Morris, Molitor, Winfield and Mauer for your free handout?

Spend, spend, spend. Millions and millions paid for by the taxpayers for what? A train from nowhere to nowhere? Must be someone else's money you're spending.

So let's see if I understand this. The Twins can't go out and spend a few million on some starting pitching because Pohlad wants the payroll cut AGAIN, but they are all too eager to spend money on a TRAIN STATION? Am I the only person who is getting DISGUSTED with this organization?

The Twins have already picked Heenpin Countuy's pocket clean once for their new stadium. Hennepin County Commissioner Mike Opat totally rolled over and did a "deal" that is extremely one-sided in favor of the Twins. An entire generation of taxpayers of Hennepin County will be burdened by this "deal" for their entire lives. It's very unfortunate that there are no investigative journalists at the StarTribune.

United Properties and the Twins are one in the same. POHLADS. Funny to sat the 3 sides are meeting. Any monies made from investment near the ball park should have a stipulation that if the Pohlads or United is invovled they have to pay back a % to the County. Why should they profit even more off of the stadium and it would show kind/fair business sense (an oxymoron, I know).

The city builds a road to your house. U can pay nothing and use it. U can pay a little and put your name on it? And this helps you? The twins want u to buy tickets and concessions inside the park. Not stand outside and twiddle your thumbs.
