I was initially scared to read this list and by the end, there were only 3 I would be happy with. Most of the FA pitchers I like didn't find their way on the list. Only the soft throwing pitch to contact and older pitchers made it on this list...

Oh what the heck...Resign Baker, Pavano and Liriano. At least the Twins know what they are getting with these guys. Then the most interesting part of next season will be watching to see which one will drop out of the rotation first. Or maybe see who comes up with the best excuse for not succeeding. Again. PS Remember that The Mad Cappster is still out there. Good Luck Mr Ryan!

The Twins continue to set their sights low in free agency. Why can't Minnesota land Zack Grienke or ANibal Sanchez? The Twins have a new ballpark and that was supposed make the team "competitive" again... Major League Baseball really needs a salary cap so the Twins can actually compete on the field. The team will be good after Joe Mauer's contract expires in five or six years. Gotta love that "hometown discount" on a singles-hitting catcher. Not even the Angels or Yankees would fork out $23 million per season for Baby Jesus. The Twins are doomed for the immediate future...nice stadium, though.

"Only the soft throwing pitch to contact and older pitchers made it on this list..." Couldn't have said it better myself. Very underwhelming list of Pavano-like pitchers.

I just vomited after reading this underwhelming list! Seriously Pohlad, start spending some of that cash you're hauling in!

Not a real difference maker among the ten. At best you are looking at #4,#5,#6 . To make matters worse there aren't any in the farm system either. Memo to Pohlad...Hire the guy who evaluates pitching talent for Oakland. Pay him whatever he wants then dump Gardy and his brother Andy. Then you might have a chance.

C'mon...None of Ryan's blabbing really matters. Everybody now knows how Pohlad operates. The Twins are DOA for 2013. Go watch a Saints game. More competitive and a lot cheaper.

Rodcarew...I completely agree. If they offer Greinke a huge deal and he just doesn't want to come here, fine, you can't force a guy to want to play here but to not even throw your hat in the ring is ridiculous. They can't use the we play in the Metrodome excuse anymore. We heavily subsidized a stadium for them, as fans, we deserve better than bottom picking for free agents. It's plain and simple just being cheap if they don't go after Greinke or other big name players. No way to spin it when you have a high revenue new ball park. No more excuses for the Twins not to spend.

Was really hoping they might go after Brandon McCarthy. We need to hire someone that helps evaluate/draft pitchers away from the Oakland A's.

Joe Blanton is awful. When was the last time this guy had an ERA lower than 4.90??? Come on. I'm so tired of hearing his name associated with the Twins. Listen, Liam Hendricks could post numbers like that--and he has three times the UPSIDE! Forget Joe Blanton. Really. Forget that fat arse.
