Does anyone else find these "budget-friendly" suggestions still a little too spendy?

The prices are average, But then the resorts are all high end properties! And yes St.Thomas and Puerto Rico are not inexpensive destinations, However you can find pretty good deals with a good travel agent to these areas. for around 2300.00 per person.

We're heading to Puerto Rico for the third time. We're staying at a guest house for about $80/night on Vieques, then moving on to San Juan and staying in the arts/culture neighborhood of Santurce for about 100/night. Our entire vacation will cost about $2800 for two, including airfare to SJ and Vieques, $100/day spending money (including food), car rental and accomodations. We consider that pretty reasonable, but go for all the culture, the quiet beaches and food!
