Great job with your endorsement for Laurie Halverson in 51B. It was heartening to see that you recognize a great public servant who will work on behalf of the people of Eagan.

The Strib has loved Erhardt since he voted for tax increases as a Representative and HATE that he lost in 2010. Add the Strib to the long list of groups outside Edina who are trying to fool voters about Ron going to St. Paul as a "moderate" like Ron's endorsers Outfront MN, SEIU, NARAL and public employee unions. While Glahn's endorsed by the Twin West Chamber of Commerce and the MN Chamber of Commerce. All the Strib wants for Christmas is a DFL majority for Governor Dayton.

At 83, Erhardt is still 20 years younger than the minds of the editorial board. Time to go away and enjoy retirement.

Did the Strib fail to mention that both the MN Chamber and Erhardt bucked Governor Pawlenty on the gas tax increase? But the MN Chamber has endorsed Glahn, not Erhardt? Lori S. is a single issue endorser in this race.

Any Politician who signs a pledge of any kind to a group who is not their constituents should not be elected. They put the Political Action group ahead of the voters when they do that.

Edina voters were ready to bounce Erhardt before his override vote of 2008. His "transformation" of the last 4 years only confirms that he is a tax-raising, big-government, statist wonk. That's the last thing we need in St Paul these days.

How disappointing that the Strib chose to endorse the vindictive Erhardt. Keith Downey accomplished more in his four years as Edina's house rep. than Erhardt came close to in 18! Yet, despite being defeated as an "Independent" in 2010, Erhardt pivoted hard to the left and no doubt cut a deal with the DFL power brokers to get his seat back. You actually believe he will be an independent voice for Edina after his party flip flop if elected??! Sorry folks, the DFL special interests want their payback and Ron's in their pocket.

It really says something of the DFL chances in Edina that the 'best' candidate they could run is a former Republican district chair. If they lose this one, will they continue recruiting Republicans to run as DFLers or just finally give up an unwinnable seat?
