It's too bad that this movement didn't address many of the problems of ID, distances, transportation and all the other issues with a simple fix - use absentee ballots!
Get everyone registered, and then apply for absentee ballots. Then hold events in the affected communities at the schools/churches/community centers for training on how to fill out the ballots, discussions on the propositions or whatever, and a celebration of mailing in all the ballots. What a way to increase "turnout" and celebrate participation on this civic duty all at the same time! And at the same time, empower groups of people who have traditionally been disempowered and voiceless.
