Per flight noise will almost always louder on the ground and fuel savings or lower emissions are unlikely. Either the aircraft will "make a swath" -- vary from day to day and flight to flight depending on pilot compliance, wind, load or the systems on-board the aircraft -- or they will fly along narrower "consolidated corridors. Power (thrust) and altitude are uncontrolled variables: to stay on a more "precise track, flights must be either lower or use more power and fuel. It seems then that all flights or most flights might well be louder on the ground in a swath or along a narrow corridor.
