I'm not a huge fan of Cravaack, but didn't the Democrats just bring back Jim Oberstar 2.0 when they selected Nolan? Big spending, bring the pork to Northern Minnesota now kind of guy? There wasn't anyone younger than him to serve the 8th?

They sound like the presidential candidates. At some point, the Democrats have to admit something has to be done with Medicare. Obamacare is going to strip it but not fix anything and this repeated stupid line that the GOP is going to do away with it is so old and a lie, can't the Dems stop saying it? Why not find a candidate from the 8th district who is truly about the 8th district?

The only one that said they would cut 700 billion permanently is ryan. Obama would cut 700 billion, but Obamacare would replace it.

If even 10 percent of the ads about Nolan are true...then he cannot be trusted.

The truth about Cravaack is that he pays more property taxes on his $500,000 home in New Hampshire than he does on his home in North Branch. He claims to be for job creation, but voted against Pell Grans for 23,000 Minnesota students and authored legislation to end federal support for the Range Regional Airport in Hibbing and the I-Falls airport. He claims to be for smaller government, but voted for a $3 billion dollar secondary engine for the F-35 striker jet (a program that U. S. Secretary of Defense Gates was against). As for his own personal ethics, I don't understand how he can collect $92,000 a year in disability payments from Delta Airlines for sleep apnea. And last night at the debate in Virginia (at Mesabi Community College), he claimed that the rising cost of tuition can be attributed to colleges spending money on hot tubs and leaded-glass windows. (Not sure what college he was referring to, but note: He said this at a community college!!!)
