Win two games and you're Super Bowl-bound. Lose two and you're a bum. Players get used to it.

All I'm saying is that Musgrave's play calling sheet is shrinking each game. Looked like the size of a postcard last Thursday night. Watch Eden Prairie play this Friday night and you'll see a similar style offense. Run left, run right, quick screen, cross your fingers..not much to it...only they're bigger than most high school teams so it works. Not going to cut it in the NFL.

If Ponder starts out in Seattle like he's been doing, don't hesitate to bring Webb in right away. This kid has had enough patience...time to start or light a fire offensively. Webb is waiting and we know what Joe can do to ignite a team...Ponder is a question mark right now.

Mark, please don't ever leave the S'tribe. You and Dan are the sane voices in the sea of fan foolishness. Excellent article. Too bad those that need to read it and heed it don't have the attention span to finish it.

Excellent article.Does anyone seriously think the Vikings are contenders? They certainly have improved. You win three straight and the Vikings are proclaimed the best in the NFC North.Tampa Bay beats you and they are bums again. So much of this is media driven. Both the Packers and Vikings lost to the Colts this year; media frenzy in Wisconsin. The Packers coaches aren't in panic mode only the cheesehead fans.

So far, the only quality win was over the 49'rs. It's all up to the passing game to start connecting down field. Nothing new here...just throw the ball, catch the ball. The Ponder experiment needs to work out...

In a game that is so destructive to the players physically, they can't survive more than a single game per week, you're bound to get compressed sampling to forecast from.

At least Christian Ponder has remained consistently bad and the team's biggest weakness for the majority of the season.

The long term problem is our QB position. They Vikings have put all of their eggs in the Ponder basket hoping they will hatch. Their future is really dependent upon Ponder being the franchise QB. If Ponder fails, this is going to set back the team for years, unless someone will guts evaluates Ponder based on his play and progression at the end of this year. If Ponder continues to be erratic and inconsistent, I really hope the team looks for alternatives sooner rather than later. My prediction is that Ponder WILL continue to perform poorly the rest of this year and we just might finish last in our division for the 3rd year in a row. I know the front office and some Ponder backers will have excuses for Ponder....no Wide Receivers to throw to (thanks Speilman), offensive line had issues, etc. Brett Favre took a barely above average team and almost got to the superbowl. Sidney Rice was not exactly a star until Favre arrived. He has been mediocre ever since. I have a feeling that someone like Aaron Rogers would find a way to get our receivers some touches without the need to scramble with happy feet and panic on every down that calls for a pass from the pocket. Time will tell, but I hope we are not stubborn with Ponder like we were with Jackson.
