It is about time the NCAA started to focus their energy and attention on real issues - colleges/universities that are truly breaking rules....and not on whether or not a school logo is hostile or abusive to the country!

Myles Brand was a complete idiot and ran the NCAA like the car salesman from Milwaukee runs MLB. He looked the other way when the big programs enhanced their teams with illegal recruiting, training and benefits. He was only interested in expanding the bowl picture and the revenue opportunity for colleges. I'm liking Emmert a lot more and hope he gets these reforms through, and quickly. Now if we can only get scholarships reduced for every athlete who leaves early these football and basketball factories will finally have to recruit (and retain in school) STUDENT-athletes. Pretty simple, if a recruit leaves or drops out of school after a year (the current KY, NC, TX basketball strategy), you lose that scholarship until he should have graduated. If he/she leaves after two years, you lose that roster scholarship for two years, etc. The BB factories would have to find players that can qualify and then stay in school (courses in Billiards and Advanced Billiards notwithstanding) in order to have a full roster of athletes. Players can transfer, but they can't flunk out or quit to go pro before they should have graduated. Involuntary servitude? Not if they want to go to college, receive a free ride and improve their game. If not, stay on the playground and see how well that works out.

The one concern I have is what to do about coaches who commit infractions then bolt for the pros. They wouldn't have any jurisdiction except banning them from coming back to the college ranks for a certain period of time.
